On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Turin-Ceres railway, on Sunday, August 9th and Sunday, August 23rd, it will be possible to experience an exciting journey back in time aboard a historic train. An unmissable opportunity to admire the landscapes and alpine villages of the Lanzo Valleys from another fascinating perspective.
On both days, the train will depart at 9:20 a.m. from Turin Porta Nuova station, arriving at Ceres station at 12:45 p.m., with intermediate stops in Venaria Reale, Ciriè, Lanzo, Germagnano, Traves on August 9th, and Pessinetto on August 23rd. At the Traves and Pessinetto stops you can enjoy an aperitif for the additional cost of 5€.
Once in Ceres, the station will welcome all visitors with an exhibition set up in its spaces and inside the historic Autobus Satti N.15.
The return journey is scheduled for 4:10 p.m., departing from Ceres, and arriving at Turin Porta Nuova at 6:21 p.m.
The day will also feature entertainment events, such as a performance of the traditional Courenta, accompanied by the Alpine Music Group and the Priors, as well as a market selling typical local products, held in collaboration with GAL and CNA. Possibility of guided tours of the main historical monuments of the country, including the Ponte della Vana and the Bell Tower of Santa Marcellina.
