A 9-day trek, covering 120 km and 8,000 metres of elevation gain, undertaken by Giacomo Meneghello, a photographer who chose to use his legs and his camera to explore a territory he had yet to discover. The film narrates this journey of exploration, which led him to experience every environment the Lanzo Valleys have to offer: a continuous succession of forests, lakes, rocky scree, great rock faces, glaciers and, above all, vast open spaces of freedom. A journey punctuated and enriched by deeply human encounters, where the local inhabitants shared their love for the land and the traditions it still holds.
Watch the trailerFor those who love mountain hiking, a single day is often not enough. This is how traverses are born, multi-day treks that link valleys, passes, and refuges. Lanzo Crossing is a traverse that develops across four different valleys: Val di Tesso, Valle di Viù, Val d’Ala, and Val Grande, all part of the Lanzo Valleys. It is a demanding itinerary, designed for experienced hikers ready to face an environment capable of offering great rewards and a truly extraordinary experience.

The protagonist of Lanzo Crossing was photographer Giacomo Meneghello, a professional accustomed to traveling the Alps and other international mountain ranges, but who had not yet explored the Lanzo Valleys. His shots have given life to a travelling exhibition that tells the story of the territory and the people encountered along his path with a fresh and introspective gaze.
