The Lanzo Valleys are an ideal destination where mountain culture has been intertwined for centuries with unique stories, traditions and trails: a journey through time, among ancient places of worship, pioneering climbs and elegant traces of the Belle Époque.
Discover the film that follows Ilaria and Angelo, two cycle tourists setting off from the Langhe. A single tasting introduces them to the flavours of the Lanzo Valleys and changes their plans: aboard the historic Alba–Germagnano train, they reach a territory still waiting to be discovered.
Their journey winds through places that tell stories of faith and history: the imposing Sanctuary of Sant’Ignazio, the Sanctuary of Santa Cristina and historic Villa Pastrone, the summer residence of Giovanni Pastrone, one of the fathers of Italian cinema.
The route then continues towards the peaks, through the unspoilt landscapes of Pian della Mussa, up to the panoramic Colle del Colombardo, home to the imposing Sanctuary of the Madonna degli Angeli. The journey ends at Villa Franchetti, where Ilaria and Angelo immerse themselves in Franco-Provençal culture, among music, dance and Piedmontese tradition.
Their journey will unfold at a slow pace, on two wheels, discovering a territory suspended in balance between the Belle Époque, Art Nouveau and spirituality.
Sentieri di parole is the podcast that follows the journey of Adele, a young writer from Turin who one day discovers an unexpected connection with the Lanzo Valleys through two clues: an old family photograph found by chance and a book discovered among the shelves of a library, “La sposa dell’aria” by Marco Albino Ferrari.
A slow-paced audio journey exploring the territory through the voices of its inhabitants, its stories and its sounds.
Inspired by the words of the book, Adele sets off for the Valleys. From the story of the first Alpine Guides in Balme to encounters with local people, each episode is a stage in rediscovering the “mountains of Turin”: always so close, yet still waiting to be discovered.
