The Lanzo Valleys are a region where mountain culture has intertwined for centuries with unique stories, traditions, and trails. A journey through time, among ancient places of worship, pioneering climbs, and elegant traces of the Belle Époque.
A film that tells the story of Ilaria and Angelo, two cycle tourists setting off from the Langhe. A simple tasting introduces them to the flavours of the Lanzo Valleys and changes their plans: aboard the historic Alba-Germagnano train, they reach a land still waiting to be discovered.
Their journey unfolds through a territory where the Belle Époque, Art Nouveau and spirituality exist in perfect balance, among places that tell stories of faith and history: the sanctuaries of Sant’Ignazio and Santa Cristina, the historic Villa Pastrone, and the many traces linked to the Holy Shroud.
The route then continues towards the mountains, through the unspoilt landscapes of Pian della Mussa and up to the panoramic Colle del Colombardo, home to the imposing Sanctuary of Madonna degli Angeli. The journey ends at Villa Franchetti, where Ilaria and Angelo immerse themselves in Franco-Provençal culture, surrounded by music, dance and Piedmontese traditions.

Inspired by the words of the book, Adele sets off for the Valleys. What follows is a slow-paced audio journey through the area, explored through the voices of its inhabitants, their stories and the sounds of the landscape.
