The most southerly of the Lanzo Valleys, the Viù Valley runs from east to west. Its proximity to Turin, via the Colle del Lys, made it the most popular valley among Belle Époque tourists in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The valley ends at Usseglio with the amphitheatres of Lake della Rossa, the highest dam in Europe, Lake Malciaussia, and the iconic Rocciamelone, the watershed peak between the Susa Valley and France.
