The steepest, narrowest, and shortest of the Lanzo Valleys
Ala Valley
The steepest, narrowest, and shortest of the three valleys, the Ala Valley stretches from the municipality of Ceres to the imposing mountains along the French border, including the Uia Bessanese and the Uia di Ciamarella. With its varied landscapes, the valley passes through chestnut and beech woods, giving way to larch forests, before reaching the Pian della Mussa, a grassy basin at 1,750 metres, surrounded by majestic peaks and glaciers.
