An easy loop itinerary in the surroundings of the village, among woods, viewpoints, fountains, and ancient artifacts. Ideal for families, with picnic areas, drinking water along the route, and splendid panoramas over the Lanzo Valleys.
Site overview
An easy and short walk to discover historical and natural points near the village. Possibility of picnics with tables and benches, and availability of drinking water along the entire route.
From Vallo, you can start from the Chapel of San Rocco, erected in the first half of the 1700s, during a livestock epidemic. The church is immersed in a thick wood; from that point, you can enjoy a beautiful panorama of Monte Turu on the right and Monte Druina on the left.
The path includes a visit to 10 points of interest, including viewpoints, fountains, and a mill. An excellent excursion for autumn and winters without snow, as it is almost entirely south-facing.
In spring, it should be avoided as the pine forests are infested with pine processionary caterpillars. From the Croce Pass to Monte Corno, there are spectacular panoramas over all the peaks of the Lanzo Valleys.
How to visit the site
Park at the San Rocco chapel and proceed uphill on the road to the panoramic point. From here, on the right, there is a loop trail; on the left, you can reach two stages excluded from the loop.
