Built in 1865, the stone bridge with two irregular arches solved centuries of difficulties in crossing the Stura river, marking a stable and fundamental connection for the village of Traves and its history.
Site overview
The stone bridge with two irregular arches was built in 1865, resolving accessibility problems that had afflicted Traves for centuries. Before this bridge, the inhabitants were exempted from night guard duty at the fortress and the castle of Lanzo (of which the municipality of Traves was part) due to the lack of a stable bridge over the Stura river.
How to visit the site
From Provincial Road 1, in the Biò hamlet, turn left. The pedestrian bridge is located a few meters from the drivable bridge.
