A classic destination for cycle-tours on compact dirt tracks, the itinerary leads to Alpe di Coassolo, where traditional stone and wood architecture and the presence of a bivouac make it the ideal place for a stop immersed in the mountains.
Site overview
Lago di Monastero (2,000m) and Alpe di Costapiana (2,050m) offer a breathtaking panorama on one side over the Val di Ala and on the other over the Val Tesso; the view of the lush green meadows contrasted by the snow-capped mountains leaves one breathless, especially if the destination was reached after a ride. It is indeed one of the classic cycle-touring destinations of the Lanzo Valleys, on a good, fairly compact dirt surface. Arriving shortly after the lake and continuing for about 500m, you reach Alpe di Coassolo (2,032m) where it is possible to admire the small mountain pasture where the combination of stone and wood gives a taste of mountain architecture. At the mountain pasture, you will also find the bivouac, ready to host you for a short or extended break.
