A few minutes' walk from the Church of Mondrone leads to a breathtaking natural canyon where the Stura torrent creates an imposing waterfall. From a height of 60 meters, visitors can admire the rushing waters as they dive into a characteristic green basin.
Site overview
ust a few minutes’ walk separate the silence of the Mondrone Church from one of the most suggestive corners of the Stura torrent: a natural canyon where the water dances among the rocks, offering a breathtaking view that enchants the eye and regenerates the spirit.
The Gorgia di Mondrone is a beautiful waterfall easily accessible for a truly evocative excursion. From the bridge, at a height of about 60 meters, the scenery is imposing: a fall of impetuous waters of the Stura stream squeezed into a rocky gorge and, at the bottom, at a dizzying distance, the rushing waters soften into a green basin from which the torrent then resumes its run.
How to visit the site
The simplest and fastest way to reach the Gorgia is to start from the convenient parking lot in front of the Church of Mondrone in Via Balme, 121, 10070 Mondrone TO. Once you have left the car, go down for a few meters along the road until you come across a sign on the right indicating the path to follow. Start descending alongside the houses until you enter a wide meadow, pass a huge boulder, and you will begin to hear the sound of the Stura in the distance. When you reach a junction, keep to the left and follow a steep downhill path; in just under three minutes, you will reach the bridge of the Gorgia di Mondrone.
