Ecomuseum of Minerals and Local History
Where the rocks tell the history of the valley.
An exhibition space dedicated to the discovery of the mineralogical heritage and the historical roots of the Lanzo Valleys, offering a journey through geological rarities and testimonies of alpine life.
Site overview
The ecomuseum was born from the passion for mineralogy shared by a group of volunteers and friends, driven by the desire to narrate the history of the village.
On the ground floor, the rooms are arranged with display cases containing numerous local minerals, among which the quartz specimens from Margone and the azurite from the Corna mining complex are particularly noteworthy.
Also on display are various common tools used for mineral extraction alongside objects of everyday use.
The rooms on the first floor host temporary exhibitions, including one dedicated to the history of the 73rd GAF Battery (Guardia alla Frontiera), which garrisoned the borders during the Second World War.
