Overview
A beautiful traverse from Cibrario Refuge crossing three high-altitude passes, two of them above 3,000 metres: Colle Sulè, Autaret, and Spiol. The first section follows the Tour della Bessanese, with breathtaking views of the imposing and forbidding peaks all around, before descending towards the upper Viù Valley, with Rocciamelone directly ahead. A final, extremely steep descent leads to the large reservoir of Lake Malciaussia, set at the foot of the outlying ridges of Monte Turlo (to the south), Rocciamelone (to the west), and Monte Lera (to the north).
