Whether you want to explore off-the-beaten-track itineraries on touring skis and snowshoes, or simply enjoy the peace and enchanting silence, the snow in the Lanzo Valleys will reward you with unexpectedly wide-open spaces.
Three valleys ready to welcome those seeking an intense mountain experience. In the Lanzo Valleys, you can experience the mountains on your own terms: the promise of hard-to-find freedom is kept here. Choose your activity and put yourself to the test.
This is where it all began. Italian mountaineering was born in these valleys, and the first guides set out from here to explore a landscape that still has the power to surprise you. A landscape enriched by age-old traditions, where art, culture, and local cuisine complement a natural heritage that remains unspoilt and awe-inspiring.
The Lanzo Valleys are easily reached from Turin and the major cities of northern Italy. Whether you prefer to travel by car, train or plane, getting to this destination in the heart of nature is simple and straightforward.
Take the A55 motorway (Turin Ring Road) and follow the signs for Lanzo Torinese. From there, local roads will take you easily into the different valleys. The journey from Turin takes around 45 minutes.
From Turin Porta Susa or Porta Nuova station, take the regional train to Ceres, with stops at the main towns and villages along the valley. The journey takes around an hour and is a convenient alternative to driving.
The nearest airport is Turin Caselle (TRN), just 30km from the Lanzo Valleys. From there, you can hire a car or take a train to reach your final destination.
Plan your time in the Lanzo Valleys to make the most of every moment.
